A collaborative social project designed to do good for the environment,
the community, and the disabled.

Community-First Collaboration

In November 2017, Dorelan launched a project aligned with its dedication to sustainable production processes and designed to provide valuable opportunities for innovation, employment, and inclusion for the community's most disadvantaged individuals.

Created in collaboration with young students from the Fashion System of the Saffi-Alberti Technical Institute in Forlì and CavaRei, a support center for disabled individuals, I'M A DREAMER consisted of three linked parts.

I'M A DREAMER @ SCHOOL

First, Dorelan made its excess materials available to the Fashion System students, asking them to develop prototypes for industrialization. During Dorelan@School, the young fashion designers, after choosing and testing the materials, created innovative applications for them. These prototypes were intended to create new industrialized uses for materials that would otherwise be disposed of, thereby boosting the sustainability of Dorelan's production and leveraging the creativity and vision of the fashion students.

I'M A DREAMER @ CAVAREI

The 20 prototypes most suitable for future industrialization were sent to CavaRei for mass production. The goal was to provide jobs for disabled individuals within the community.

CavaRei's commitment to tapping into the many skills available within its population of disadvantaged individuals led to a high level of professionalism and attention to detail in every stage of the production process. Together, we realized the vision of the young designers, gave new life to recovered materials, and empowered disabled individuals.

I'M A DREAMER @ WEEK OF GOOD LIVING

From September 15-30, 2018, the fruits of I'M A DREAMER were on display during what we called the "Week of Good Living." Showcased at the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Forlì, this was a powerful opportunity to demonstrate the possibility of creating a stronger economic, social, and environmental future that includes everyone in the community.

In addition, each of the products created as the result of the I'M A DREAMER project were on sale at 24 Italian Dorelan outlets beginning at the end of October 2019. Purchasing I'M A DREAMER products means becoming part of this exciting initiative! Consumers have joined the project at Dorelan outlets throughout Italy.

I'M A DREAMER: RECOGNITIONS

The I'M A DREAMER project has earned many recognitions, awards, and accolades since its completion
in 2018. Here is a look at some of the most important.

LOTTERIA DELLASOLIDARIETÀ AWARD

As part of the annual Lotteria della Solidarietà event organized by various organizations in the Forlì area, I'M A DREAMER was one of three projects to earn an award in the category of Welfare. We won this award because of our creative reuse and marketing of objects made from production waste. As a result of this award, I'M A DREAMER also received a grant of 2,000 euros and support from the Fondazione Romagna Solidale.

COOPIN AWARD

On December 14, 2018, I'M A DREAMER won the COOPIN award in the Partnership for Innovation category. The award was designed to recognize projects that meld different fields into a cohesive whole. Selected from among 30 regional initiatives, I'M A DREAMER was recognized for its ability to concretely demonstrate how businesses and the local area can collaborate to support the environment and each other.

EXCELSA AWARD

In October 2019, the I'M A DREAMER project received two recognitions as part of the EXCELSA 2019 initiative. One recognition was for the sustainable companies category and the other was for the special socio-cultural section for non-commercial initiatives. The EXCELSA award recognizes best business practices within six categories.

In October 2021, I'M A DREAMER also allowed Dorelan to win the EXCELSA award in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

EMILIA ROMAGNA INNOVATORS AWARD

In October 2019, I'M A DREAMER received a special mention as part of the Responsible Innovators Award for the Region of Emilia Romagna.

5TH INDUSTRY AND BUSINESS VALUES FESTIVAL

At the Industry and Business Values Festival, held at the city museum in Rimini, sustainable best practices were the focus of discussion. I'M A DREAMER was one of the leaders of the event and served as a successful case study in how businesses can create a circular economy and contribute toward sustainability.

I'M A DREAMER AT ECOMONDO 2021

In October 2021, at the Rimini Fair, I'M A DREAMER was exhibited at Ecomondo. Ecomondo is a unique European event that focuses on sustainable economies and environmental thoughtfulness.

THE UN 2030 AGENDA

The I'M A DREAMER project aligns with certain points of the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, a program of action signed in September 2015 by the governments of the 193 UN member countries. The goals within this agenda represent a range of important issues, including the following: Fighting poverty, eliminating hunger, and combating climate change.

I'M A DREAMER contributes to the realization of these goals in the following three ways:

• The support of a school-work program
• Training of 5 people and to date, the hiring of one person with special needs
• Recovery and use of of 74 pounds of production waste from our facilities
